The Happiest Week of My Life!

We have been busy preparing for the little bambinos to arrive on Friday afternoon. My mother and I left out at 6:00 a.m. for Jacksonville, Florida on Saturday morning. We went down to trade my convertible in for a SUV. We didn't get back home until 2:30 a.m. on Sunday. Almost 24 hours trip! We were exhausted!!!! But it was the only vehicle in my price range within 500 miles like I wanted. Nothing like losing your job and having to buy a bigger more expensive gas guzzler the next week! I was bound and determine to have those leather seats though! I left Billy home to move furniture and child proof the house while Mom and I did the road tripping.

Billy and I have been going out to eat every night knowing that it will be the last for a very long time! LOL!

I sent out an email to my subdivision asking if anyone wanted to sell swing sets, basketball goals, camcorders, etc. I know that a lot of kids outgrow their outdoor play items and thought maybe some parents wanted to sell it and make a little pocket change. So far, we have landed a basketball goal and camcorder. Also, we have some neighbors that have bikes and other sports gear that we are going to look it. Man, it gets expensive getting 3 kids at one time so buying second hand is definitely the way for us to go right now!

Our goal is to nest for the first couple of months. Therefore, I'm trying to buy any and everything I can think of now so I don't have to drag the kids out of the house any more than necessary. We are going to limit the number of visitors too. We really don't want to overwhelm the kids anymore than necessary. We will probably sit out on church for the first several weeks at least. I really, really don't want these kids to feel like this is a pony show. While this is a super exciting time for us, on the other hand, it is very scary and uncertain time for the children. They are losing both their birth mother and their foster mother.

I really appreciate all the phone calls, emails, comments, message that have been sent my way. Unfortunately, this is such a busy time for me, it is hard to keep everyone update. Until things settle down, I will use this blog as my primary way of updating everyone.

Keep the prayers coming Ladies!

Love,

Shana

  1. Shana,

I totally agree with your decisions...you're definitely smart to "nest" for a while. I don't blame you one bit. Just know that there's someone at the other end of the county praying for your new little family. Again, I'm excited for you! Thanks for keeping us updated on the blog!
