WoWser!

Good gracious it has been a wild week (actually 1/2 week since everything was normal until Wednesday)!

1. Wednesday morning, I was laid off effective 08/31/09.

2. My parents put their house up for sale a couple of months ago. They want to sell and move closer to us to help us once we are placed with children. My step dad had to retire earlier this year. He has been lost not working. He is very excited to help us with our childcare needs while I work...or that was the idea anyway. Regardless of whether I'm working or not, I need my parents closer to me AND their child rearing assistance! GUESS WHAT? They got a contract on their house on Wednesday night - sold it to the second looker! This means they will be moving about a mile away from me.

3. I've been busy stirring up real estate business since Wednesday. I really think I might have a sale on my hands and it is going to be a BIG commission!!! I'm not very stressed about finding work as I have also had some other good leads on job opportunities outside of real estate. I feel like for the first time in my life, I finally have enough education and experience to be very marketable!

4. Dept. of Family and Children Services was ringing my phone off the hook on Thursday while I was out showing a house!!! I knew, just knew that I had got "the call." Sure enough, they have a local sib group of three that are legal risk but situation looks very promising and they want to get the kids placed soon and start terminating the mother's rights. The kids are ages 2, 4, and 6 years old. Two boys and a girl! They stated that everything is pretty "normal" and no real big issues!!! We go Tuesday morning to review their file.

5. Thursday night, my dad fell of the back of his truck and broke his collar bone, 2 ribs and punctured his lung. He was admitted to the hospital but thankfully was discharged yesterday. He works as a barber and will likely not cooperate in resting and letting his body heal properly.

6. Last night we went to a Chattanooga Lookouts game with a group of neighbors. I was telling them about getting the call about the 3 kids. The man seated in front of turned around and told us that his adorable twins were adopted at 14 months old. He was no spring chicken and he raved on and on about how this was the best thing in life he had ever experienced. He and his wife were all so sweet and encouraging. He said, "You know you were meant to sit behind us tonight for a reason, don't you?"

So can you believe this? I know the Lord opens and closes doors but goodness I'm such an impatient person that I never thought it would all happen in 72 hours! But after the shock wore off on Wednesday, I really was at peace with losing my wonderful job. My husband is REALLY terrified of the possibility of three kids. However, he is a devout Christian man and knows that none of this is coincidence. I'm asking that everyone pray for us.
